Suffolk - Situated to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is in the region of Great Britain called East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has an area of 1,466 square mls and a population of roughly 730,000. Suffolk touches the neighbouring counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, Ipswich is the major town, whilst other vital towns include Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. The county is principally flat and low-lying, in the north of the county you will find wetland areas which are part of The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
