Suffolk - To be found to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the area of England known as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk incorporates an area of 1,466 sq mls and a population of roughly 0.73 million. Suffolk is bordered by the counties of Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, Ipswich is the capital town, and additional significant towns are Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. The county is largely low-lying and flat, in the north of the county there are wetland areas which are within The Broads National Park. During the period 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
