Suffolk UK - Positioned to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the region of Great Britain generally known as East Anglia. The county incorporates a land area of 1,466 sq mls and a population of around 730,000. The county of Suffolk is bordered by the neighbouring counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, the county town is Ipswich, while other significant towns are Bury Saint Edmunds, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. Suffolk is principally flat and low-lying, in the north of the county you'll find wetland areas that are part of The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
