Suffolk Overview - Set to the north-east of London, the county of Suffolk is part of the region of The United Kingdom referred to as East Anglia. The county incorporates an area of 1,466 square mls and a population of approximately 0.73 million. The county of Suffolk is bordered by the neighbouring counties of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, the county town is Ipswich, while other vital towns include Bury Saint Edmunds, Felixstowe, Newmarket, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. The county is for the most part low-lying and flat, you'll find wetland areas in the northern part of the county which are part of The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
