Suffolk Review - Positioned to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is within the region of The UK generally known as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has an area of 1,466 sq miles plus a population of approximately seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county of Suffolk borders the counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, the major town is Ipswich, and additional important towns include Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Newmarket, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. From 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was split into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
