Suffolk England - Placed to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is within the area of The United Kingdom generally known as East Anglia. Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 square miles along with a population of around seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county of Suffolk is bordered by the counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, the capital town is Ipswich, and other vital towns are Bury Saint Edmunds, Stowmarket, Newmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. The county is primarily flat and low-lying, in the northern part of the county you can find wetland areas which are part of The Broads. During the period 1889-1974 Suffolk was separated into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
