Suffolk - Positioned to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is within the area of The United Kingdom called East Anglia. Suffolk incorporates a land area of 1,466 square miles and a population of roughly seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county borders the counties of Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, the capital town is Ipswich, and other major towns are Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, Newmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. The county is generally low-lying and flat, in the northern part of the county you'll find wetland areas which are within The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 the county was separated into 2 administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
