Suffolk UK - Situated to the north-east of Greater london, the county of Suffolk is in the region of Great Britain known as East Anglia. The county incorporates an area of 1,466 sq miles plus a population of approximately 730,000. The county borders the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, the major town is Ipswich, whilst other significant towns include Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Newmarket and Bury Saint Edmunds. The county is mostly low-lying and flat, you can find wetland areas in the north of the county which are part of The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
