Suffolk UK - Established to the north-east of London, the county of Suffolk is part of the region of England known as East Anglia. Suffolk incorporates a land area of 1,466 square miles plus a population of roughly seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county is bounded by the counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, the county town is Ipswich, whilst additional vital towns are Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. Suffolk is generally low-lying and flat, in the northern part of the county there are wetland areas which are part of The Broads National Park. During the period 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was split into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
