Suffolk Review - Placed to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is in the area of Great Britain known as East Anglia. The county has an area of 1,466 square miles and a population of around 730,000. The county of Suffolk touches the counties of Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, Ipswich is the county town, whilst additional significant towns are Bury Saint Edmunds, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. The county is generally flat and low-lying, in the northern part of the county you can find wetland areas which are within The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was divided into 2 administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
