Suffolk UK - Found to the north-east of The city of London, the county of Suffolk is part of the area of The United Kingdom known as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 sq mls and has a population of approximately 730,000. The county is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, the capital town is Ipswich, and other significant towns include Bury Saint Edmunds, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. Suffolk is for the most part low-lying and flat, in the north of the county there are wetland areas that are part of The Broads. From 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was divided into 2 administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
