Suffolk - Located to the north-east of The city of London, the county of Suffolk is within the area of Great Britain called East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has an area of 1,466 square mls plus a population of around 730,000. Suffolk is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, Ipswich is the county town, and other significant towns are Bury Saint Edmunds, Stowmarket, Newmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. The county is primarily low-lying and flat, you can find wetland areas in the north of the county which are part of The Broads. During the period 1889-1974 the county was split into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
