Suffolk England - Established to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is in the area of England referred to as East Anglia. The county has a land area of 1,466 square miles and has a population of roughly 730,000. Suffolk is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, Ipswich is the county town, while other significant towns include Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Felixstowe, Newmarket and Bury Saint Edmunds. From 1889-1974 the county was separated into 2 administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
