Suffolk Review - Placed to the north-east of London, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the area of Great Britain called East Anglia. The county has an area of 1,466 sq mls and a population of around seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county is bordered by the neighbouring counties of Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, the county town is Ipswich, whilst additional major towns are Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Lowestoft. The county of Suffolk is for the most part flat and low-lying, in the northern part of the county you will find wetland areas which are within The Broads National Park. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was split into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
