Suffolk - Established to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is part of the area of The United Kingdom called East Anglia. The county has a land area of 1,466 sq mls and has a population of about seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county of Suffolk is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, Ipswich is the major town, and other important towns include Lowestoft, Newmarket, Felixstowe, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. From 1889-1974 Suffolk was separated into 2 administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
