Suffolk Overview - Found to the north-east of London, the rural county of Suffolk is in the region of England generally known as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 sq mls along with a population of about seven hundred and thirty thousand. The county of Suffolk is bordered by the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex, the county town is Ipswich, whilst other vital towns include Lowestoft, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Bury Saint Edmunds. During the period 1889-1974 Suffolk was separated into 2 administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
