Suffolk England - Situated to the north-east of Greater london, the rural county of Suffolk is within the area of England generally known as East Anglia. The county has an area of 1,466 sq mls plus a population of roughly 730,000. The county touches the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, the county town is Ipswich, while other major towns include Lowestoft, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Bury St Edmunds. Suffolk is primarily flat and low-lying, you'll find wetland areas in the northern part of the county which are part of The Broads National Park. During the period 1889-1974 the county was split into two administrative counties, East Suffolk and West Suffolk.
