Suffolk Review - Situated to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is within the region of England referred to as East Anglia. The county of Suffolk has a land area of 1,466 sq mls and a population of around seven hundred and thirty thousand. Suffolk is bordered by the counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, Ipswich is the major town, while other important towns include Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Felixstowe, Newmarket and Bury Saint Edmunds. The county is mainly low-lying and flat, there are wetland areas in the north of the county that are within The Broads National Park. During the period 1889-1974 the county was divided into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
