Suffolk UK - Based to the north-east of The city of London, the rural county of Suffolk is in the region of Great Britain called East Anglia. The county of Suffolk incorporates a land area of 1,466 sq miles and a population of approximately 730,000. The county of Suffolk is bounded by the neighbouring counties of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk, the county town is Ipswich, whilst additional significant towns are Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Newmarket and Bury Saint Edmunds. During the period 1889-1974 Suffolk was divided into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
