Suffolk Review - Set to the north-east of The city of London, the county of Suffolk is part of the area of The United Kingdom known as East Anglia. The county has an area of 1,466 square mls and has a population of about 0.73 million. The county is bordered by the neighbouring counties of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, Ipswich is the capital town, and additional significant towns include Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Felixstowe, Newmarket and Bury Saint Edmunds. Suffolk is primarily flat and low-lying, there are wetland areas in the north of the county that are within The Broads. During the period 1889-1974 the county of Suffolk was split into two administrative counties, West Suffolk and East Suffolk.
